This is a bittersweet post. We blew past our previous record of individuals and families served through our LoveOne + Clackamas Service Center Food Pantry. 311 people were shopped for today, representing 107 kiddos and 102 families.
We are so thankful to be able to provide food to neighbors in need AND what we have to offer is never enough. We regularly run out of food in under 15 minutes. FIFTEEN MINUTES. Did you know that a direct impact of providing food to folks in need results in reduced child abuse and neglect? Did you know that by just looking at someone you can't know whether they struggle with food insecurity? Our neighbors, classmates, co-workers, loved ones, family members...so many are struggling to make ends meet and often food is one of the first things affected. We are thankful...and we look forward to the day when we all have enough.
