Milwaukie South - August

27 neighbors, 23 volunteers, 15 pizzas, 70 burritos, 1 Deputy District Attorney and a laundromat owner in a parking lot…🎵

Our lyrics might need some work, but our events are changing lives. 11 people accessed harm reduction services, 1 person was referred to treatment, 2 folks moved into transitional shelter, birth certificates and IDs continue to be ordered in preparation for the next round of housing vouchers, and we met some new partners and neighbors who rocked our world. 🎸

Special thanks to Rotary Club of Milwaukie, Oregon for coming out to volunteer (they are hands down some of our fave peeps!) and for providing pizza, bottled water and other snacks and hygiene supplies. This group is fearless, kind and engaged with making a difference in their community. The Rotary motto “Service Above Self” doesn’t need explaining when this group is around.

We had a great visit with QED Laundry owner Robert, who checked out our new set up and learned about the additional on site services we’re able to offer. Community Prosecutor and Rotarian Bill Stewart also came out to see firsthand what he’s been hearing so much about, and connected with neighbors as well as our volunteers and partner service providers.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Providence’s Better Outcomes Thru Bridges (BOB) outreach team of Alex, Jon, Johanna and Heidi. A member of the team connected with an individual experiencing suicidal thoughts, crafted a plan of care, and did the legwork to make the plan happen. They also provided burritos, helped distribute hygiene items, made arrangements to help folks obtain IDs, followed up with clients referred by LoveOne and so much more!

A community member driving by on their way home from work saw us and stopped, shared that they knew Dave McAdams and made a financial donation. Hey Boss, we’re still changing lives, one quarter at a time. ❤
