Milwaukie South - February

Wednesday night’s laundry + wrap support event was one of our smoothest nights yet. From set up to tear down and everything in between, our community pitched in and made sure everything was covered.

Our events at QED Laundry/Integrated Health require 25+ volunteers these days, and this week we had more than 30. That’s a lot of rad humans willing to spend an evening in the parking lot meeting basic needs while also holding space for our neighbors to arrive as they are and build relationships.

150 neighbors accessed services on Wednesday, from laundry, hygiene and clothing to harm reduction services, bus passes, survival gear, a hot meal and more.

Special thanks go to Providence’s Better Outcomes thru Bridges team for coming out every month to help us better serve our neighbors; Panda Express for the generous discount on a delicious hot meal; our treasured Drudis-Swainson family for bringing out our portable toilet, delivering the meal and staying to serve along with several rockstar OCHS students; Stephanie, Karen, Darin and Milwaukie Lutheran Church for bringing out the clothing trailer and making sure folks have warm, comfortable clothing; Stori and Oak Grove United Methodist Church - Oak Grove, Oregon for helping with hygiene distribution; Pastor Sara and W of Storyline Community for bringing much needed supplies and running the hand washing station; Cynthia of AGE+ for coming out to volunteer and learn more about LoveOne; Anna from HereTogether for checking out the event and pitching in to help; and Kristi with Sunday Soupday for bringing and serving fresh hot coffee!

We also want to welcome back Board Secretary and check-in magician Sara! Sara and her family spent the last few months traveling and we are so very happy to have her back!
