On Tuesday, January 3 we celebrated the New Year in style: at the laundromat! 62 of our friends and neighbors washed and dried clothing and bedding, enjoyed a delicious dinner, shopped for hygiene supplies and accessed additional onsite supports from partner organizations.
We have the most amazing volunteers! 18 rad humans helped out from setting up to serving to cleaning up and we couldn’t do it without them! Special thanks to Mary and Gene Zellharie and the crew at King of Kings Lutheran Church for faithfully providing sack meals to go and kitting up hygiene supplies (think a crazy number of snack bags full of q-tips) for us.
We say it a lot and it’s always true: we do this work together and we are so thankful for the Milwaukie community!
