This is how we do Christmas at LoveOne! 15 families served, 710 pounds of clean laundry, 11 volunteers, countless amazing donations including hot cocoa and countless smiles, laughter, conversations, new volunteers, old friends and one purpose...to serve clean laundry for free and just love. ❤️
One of the things that stood out to me the most tonight as I walked around and talked to people and watched and listened to stories from people I haven’t seen in over 24 years is the word FAMILY. It’s a tough word when you don’t have it. It’s a tough word when you watch this holiday season come and go and it’s the very thing you long for the most. But what I was reminded of as I stood outside in the cold listening to someone share their story and watching my own walking around inside that laundromat, is that we create the life we want and family is what you make it and we are developing that each time we come together and do life and even laundry together. Family may be a ginormous amount of people that gather for every reason or occasion, it may be one person in your world that feels like home, it may be living far away but each time you talk you pick up where you left off. Family is who you choose to call it and if you’re smart you pick the very best people to call your own. I am so grateful for my LoveOne family and the volunteers who give so much to come and show up to serve. So thank you for being a part of this community and Merry Christmas to all.
