❤️Tuesday night was laundry night and true to form, it brought us new neighbors and opportunities to meet new needs. We had the opportunity to assist a single mom and her kids, currently living in their car, with laundry and supplies - and also connect them with additional community resources. We helped family members wash sleeping bags, pillows, and clothing belonging to loved ones living on the street. We made sure a college student, scrambling to make ends meet, left with clean laundry and stocked up on items from the resource table. We supplied a pair of shorts to a gentleman who desperately wanted to wash his one and only pair of pants but didn’t have other clothes to change into. And one of our volunteers ran to the store and purchased aloe for a kiddo with a sunburn, and a bottle of sunscreen for good measure.
We are in need of the following items to restock our resource table (you all were so generous the last time we requested items that it’s taken us a few months to go through everything, THANK YOU!): bottled water, socks, sunscreen, aloe, individually wrapped snacks, and a few gas cards to have on hand.🥛🧦☀️ All donations can be dropped off at Oregon City Les Schwab.
Our next LoveOne laundry event will be on Tuesday, August 7 at 6pm. We are looking for 2-3 volunteers for August, so please message us if you are interested and we will get you details.👍
⭐We are excited to announce that we will be holding laundry events in Molalla in the near future. The director of LoveOne Laundry Molalla is hard at work preparing to launch their initiative. If you are interested in donating or volunteering at the Molalla event, let us know!
