We had a super fun joint shower and laundry event last Wednesday at BRAX Laundry Oregon City! We provided 9 showers for neighbors without running water and Alex volunteered his time to provide haircuts. Thank you, Alex! We took a few before and after photos of folks excited to get their hair cut before the heat of the summer!
The weather was perfect and we all enjoyed the lovely evening! We were joined by Public Health offering vaccinations, 4D Recovery harm reduction and peer support services, Anna with Cascade AIDS Project, and the already mentioned showers and haircuts. Our lovely and loving friends at Clackamas Sunrise Rotary joined us and brought pizza for dinner as well as helped sponsor the event. We also enjoyed cookies, Rice Krispie treats, and a surprise drop off from Lauren with Nothing Bundt Cakes. Everything was delicious! We really do get to work with some of the best people ever.
61 folks accessed services and we washed and dried 61 loads of laundry (17 smalls, 30 mediums and 14 larges). Have you seen how ginormous the large washers and dryers are at Brax?
