Oregon City - September 2019

Updated: Sep 26, 2019

Tuesday night was laundry night! We served 21 individuals/families, washed and dried just over 1,300 pounds of laundry, and had several new volunteers.

From the moment we pulled up to the laundromat until the time we left, our neighbors and volunteers played a huge role in making sure the event ran smoothly. Everyone pitched in - from unloading supplies and setting up the resource table to passing out bottled water and sweeping the floor - with a sense of community and belonging. It's hard to describe with words, so we'll just say there's no other place we would rather be on the first Tuesday of every month.

Best news of the week: One of our neighbors has been receiving extensive dental work for quite some time and on Tuesday they proudly showed us their new teeth! We are so excited for them! Of course the confidence boost is huge, but so is being able to eat ordinary foods.
